miami vice

i recently drove with my mum down to miami to change out some paintings at her exhibit. unbeknownst to her, my older sister and i had purchased a plane ticket to have my sister fly down and surprise my mum for her birthday (which would take place while we were there).

here are the images i have chosen to narrate that journey...

giving credit, where credit is due:

image 9, "narcissus" by William Braemer.  William is one of the three men that run the Miami gallery, Art Fusion, that my mother's work is exhibited in. The piece is made entirely of pennies, hot glued to a fiber glass base. He is made up of roughly 80,000 U.S. pennies!

Image 5, a hand painted ceiling panel and merry go round camel seen at the bonnet house in Miami. The panel is a self portrait of the owner, Frederic Bartlett and his second wife, Evelyn. The panel was originally displayed on their bedroom ceiling.
